   Matters Arising

   1. Review of the Constitution: Update from Andrew. Have been looking at membership Churches, but no decisions made. The Church leaders have been invited to meet on Tues Sept 1st for discussion on the Constitution. A letter has been sent out, but to date only 1 reply.

   Vivienne made comment that the current pattern for officers as far as the Moderator is concerned was a good one as it regularly involved different Churches & Denominations.

   As far as the looking for a Moderator for 2027-28 John Salter would to happy to stand, but this would mean that we will need to appoint a new Secretary.

   2. Website & Facebook update: Web site is now live: www.wellington churchestogether.co.uk. There is a link to each Church website there. To request items to go on the web site you will need to contact Andrew Norris.

   The new Facebook page is up and running. (Wellington Churches Together). The old one to be shut down. The new page is “Your group, the old one is Community”

   3. Chaplaincy Group : This was discussed, and there is to be a separate update on the progress so far to be circulated.

   4. Update Reports : Have already been circulated.

   Street Pastors: Mike reported that more training to take place in January

   January 2026, as both Taunton & Bridgwater are short of Pastors

   Foodbank: Christine has stood down from the Foodbank, and it is now

   open on Thursdays only between 1& 3pm. Mondays have been quiet

   lately, and it hasn’t been so easy to get volunteers for Mondays.

   5. Matters for Discussion
      Treasurers report: Steve reported that we have about £300 in the account for general expenditure, although there are other amounts set aside for specific events.

   Steve also said that he wishes to stand down from the Treasurers position at the 2027 AGM, so we will be looking for a new Treasurer. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please let us know.
   Pop up Shop : We have the Pop up Shop booked for Monday 31st August – Saturday 6th September. Planning to be open form Wed 2nd – Saturday5th, from 10 until 4 each day. Volunteers needed to help out. Chrissie Disney has agreed to coordinate it.
   3. Christmas Light Switch On : Saturday 28th November from 10 until 7 pm. Agreed to go ahead, with similar games & glitter tattoos as last year.

   This has now been formally booked, but we need not start until 12, but we will have to set up early and then leave it ready to go. Have discussed this with Rebecca at the Council, and she is happy with that.

   4. Christmas Day Lunch : We need to a person to coordinate and be responsible for the cooking. We normally have plenty of folk willing to help on the day. A separate email to be sent out. This has been done, but no one has come forward as yet, so if you know of anyone who might be interested, please let us know.

   5. Howard Road Funday: Saturday 12th September 12- 3pm. All coming together well but can always do with more help on the day. Please pass this on

   6. Wacky Wednesdays ; 5th & 19th August in the park. Both now taken place. Well attended & kept us busy, particularly the Hook a Fish & Glitter

   Tattoos.

   Future Events

   Bible Society Ukraine evening @Wellington Baptist 7pm on Sat 29th August. All donations to the Bible Society Ukraine Appeal.

   Bible Society Songs of Praise@ Methodist Church 3pm on Sun 18th October
